Transport for London has launched web-based tools for transport and land-use planning. TfL's existing Public Transport Access Levels (PTAL), indicating how well-connected areas are to the public transport network, are now available in a clearer and more visual format using interactive mapping.

A new time-mapping feature called TIM (pictured) also enables planners to map expected travel times from any point in London. Both PTAL and TIM information is available for a ‘future scenario’ that considers the impact of transport improvements, such as Crossrail. TfL says it is working on further information that will allow planners to plot “the number of workplaces and residents that can be reached within a defined area from every location in London”.
